About Rome Physical Therapy

At Rome Physical Therapy, we are intentionally private pay and do not contract directly with insurance companies. This model allows us to provide the highest level of pelvic health care—without the limitations, rushed visits, or restrictions often imposed by insurance plans.

The Rome Physical Therapy Difference

1. Whole-Body Treatment

Pelvic floor dysfunction rarely exists in isolation. We assess and treat the entire body, including posture, breathing, core, hips, spine, and nervous system—without being limited by insurance diagnosis codes.

2. True One-on-One Care

Your entire session is spent one-on-one with your pelvic health physical therapist. No aides. No double-booking. No interruptions.

3. Hands-On, Private Treatment

Our sessions include hands-on care for the full appointment assessing total body to fully understand your condition.

4. Advanced Specialization

Our therapists have hundreds of hours of advanced pelvic health continuing education, far beyond entry-level pelvic floor therapy training. This allows us to treat complex cases that often don’t improve with standard in-network care.

5. Transparency From Day One

We are upfront about:

  • Your plan of care

  • How many visits you may need

  • Expected progress timelines

No surprises. No open-ended treatment plans.

What this means for you:

  • Care focused on you, not insurance requirements

  • Clear expectations around cost and plan of care

  • The ability to treat the root cause, not just symptoms

How to Find Your Out-of-Network Benefits

Step 1 — Call the Number on Your Insurance Card

  • Ask to speak with a benefits representative.

Step 2 — Ask These Key Questions

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for physical therapy?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible?

  • What percentage is reimbursed after my deductible is met? (your coinsurance)

  • Is reimbursement based on allowed amount or billed amount?

Step 3 — Request This Information in Writing

Ask for:

  • A summary of your out-of-network benefits

  • Reimbursement percentages

  • Deductible amounts

  • Coverage limitations

This protects you and prevents misinformation.

Step 4 — Submit Your Superbill

After your visit:

  • Receive your superbill from Rome Physical Therapy

  • Submit it to your insurance company

  • Track reimbursement through your insurer

Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific plan.

Key Terms to Know:

  • Out-of-Network Deductible: Amount you must pay before reimbursement begins

  • Coinsurance: Percentage the insurance may reimburse after deductible

  • Allowed Amount: What insurance considers reasonable for a service

  • Visit Limits: Caps on number of reimbursable visits

Knowing these details helps you plan financially and avoid surprises.

In Network Care

Lower upfront cost per visit

Shorter sessions (often 30–45 minutes)

Therapist may treat multiple patients at once

Limited hands-on time

Care often dictated by insurance requirements

Out Of Network Care

Longer, dedicated one-on-one sessions

Hands-on treatment for the full visit

Whole-body and root-cause approach

Advanced pelvic health expertise

Transparent plan of care

Lower cost per visit does not always mean better value. Many patients find they need fewer visits when care is comprehensive and individualized.
